This site is dedicated to the memory of Ian Clements.
God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms round him,
and whispered, "come with me".
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes "the best".
This fund has been set up in memory of Ian who died on 12 November 2008, just seven months after being diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 66. Ian was a very hard working man who was loved by everyone that knew him. He worked hard all his life and had a wicked sense of humour. He loved the outdoors, be it walking on Dartmoor, riding his motor bikes, boating or paddling the canoe he built himself and completed just days before he was diagnosed and if he wasn't out and about you would find him in his shed covered in oil! It was the debilitating breathlessness Ian suffered that he found by far the hardest thing to deal with because it meant he could no longer do the things he loved doing the most and this is why we, his family and friends have chosen to support the British Lung Foundation.
